The Center for Competitive Politics is pleased to welcome Joe Albanese to our External Relations team as a Research Fellow.
Prior to joining CCP, Joe was a Business Development Consultant and Campaign Coordinator at Oracle Corporation in Massachusetts, a Summer Analyst at Summit Consulting in Washington, and an Intern in the Senate offices and re-election campaign of Senator Scott Brown. He graduated from Georgetown University in 2014 with a B.S. in International Political Economy.
Joe is a strong advocate for less government intervention in the political process and for upholding Constitutional provisions that advance individual liberty.
As Joe explains, “public debate regarding campaign finance and political expression tends to be dominated by voices in government and media that prefer more regulation. While there have been great strides in free speech jurisprudence in recent years, this has only emboldened pro-regulation voices to more openly attack the First Amendment. I am excited to engage in this debate at CCP and help promote a more open and competitive political system.”
As a Research Fellow, Joe will be conducting original research on the effects of state and federal campaign finance regulations, as well as analyzing and critiquing research and policy proposals from pro-regulation activists. Joe will also author op-eds and blog posts on pertinent developments in political speech issues for the Center.
