Whats this have to do with campaign finance regulation? Plenty. Undoubtedly, the pro-speech regulation crowd will cite these corrupt public officials as a result of the "evil" of money in politics and the need for government-financing of campaigns in New Jersey.
But the truth is much different. Enforcing current bribery and other corruption laws is the best way to keep politics "clean." Today’s arrests are the appropriate way to deal with corruption – not forcing taxpayers to fund political campaigns.
